Montenegrin writers Dragana Tripković i Nikola Nikolic will present their work in Rijeka on April 18th, organized by the Montenegrin Society of Independent Writers (CDNK), on the occasion of marking 20 years since the restoration of Montenegro's independence.

"In a conversation with the audience, together with representatives of the Rijeka literary association Ri Lit, the authors will open up questions of contemporary literature, identity and the place of the writer in a society that is constantly questioned, but rarely listened to," the announcement states.

The program is implemented by the Association of Montenegrins in Croatia, the Rijeka City Museum, HDLU Rijeka, FA “Zora” Opatija, FA “Zvir” and Ri Lit Rijeka.

Dragana Tripković was born in Cetinje in 1984. She is a playwright, writer and screenwriter, whose work includes poetry, drama and prose. Her work has been recognized in numerous anthologies of contemporary literature in the country and abroad, and her works have been translated into several languages.

"As a playwright, she has collaborated with relevant regional theaters, while her novel "Lovište samoće" represents a strong step forward in prose expression - a space in which the personal and the collective collide. She is the president of the CDNK and vice president of the Montenegrin PEN Center," it was announced.

Nikola Nikolić was born in Podgorica in 1989. He is the author of novels, collections of stories and literary criticism, and his texts explore the cracks in contemporary society - places where history does not end, but repeats itself. His works have been published and translated in the region and Europe, and he has received several literary awards. He actively participates in the regional literary scene through residencies, editorial and critical work. He is a member of the board of directors of the CDNK.
