The poster exhibition titled "Visual Code of the Festival", organized by the Public Institution "Grad Teatar" on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the festival, will open today in Budva, at the "Jovo Ivanović" Modern Gallery and the "Stefan Mitrov Ljubiša" Memorial House in the Old Town, at 19 p.m.

The author of the post is Merin Smailagic, a long-time designer at a public institution from which they state that they present carefully selected posters that have shaped the visual identity of the festival over the decades.

Smailagić, in the accompanying text of the exhibition, states that visitors will find a retrospective of the visual memory of one of the most significant cultural symbols of our region.

"This poster exhibition is not just a chronological series of event announcements, but an authentic testimony to the aesthetic development of the 'Grad Teatar' Public Institution and the constant dialogue between the theatre scene and graphic design. Celebrating its 40th anniversary, we are opening an archive that preserves memories of the years in which our city became a stage and art the only universal language," says Smailagić.

He points out that these posters are the guardians of the memories of the plays, the faces of the actors, but also of the applause under the open sky.

"As we enter our fifth decade, these works remain as permanent traces in time, but also proof that 'Theatre City' is a place where art is not only viewed, but experienced anew and in many ways," says the author.

The exhibition will be open during April and May, and is planned to be held as part of the 40th edition of the City of Theatre festival.

The organizers expressed their gratitude to the Public Institution Museums and Galleries of Budva for the space and assistance provided, and they send a message to visitors:

"Come and discover the stories behind the posters together."
