The jubilee, 55th Festival of Dramatic Amateurs of Montenegro will be held in Bijelo Polje from June 9 to 13, and 15 plays from eight Montenegrin cities have applied to participate in one of the most important theater events in the country.

The Public Institution Cultural Center "Vojislav Bulatović Strunjo" announced that the great interest of theater ensembles confirms the importance and reputation that the festival has on the Montenegrin cultural scene.

The festival council, consisting of president Tufik Bojadžić, as well as members Zoran Boskovic, Omar Bajramspahic, Sladjana Merdovic i Aleksandar Srdanović, appointed Bijelo Polje Theater actor Predrag Vukojević as the selector for this year's edition.

Based on his proposal, the Festival Council will make the final decision on the performances that will be included in the official competition selection.

The organizers announce that, in addition to the competitive part of the program, the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy rich accompanying content during the five festival days.

The festival is organized by the Public Institution Center for Culture “Vojislav Bulatović Strunjo”, which will provide cash prizes for the three best performances overall, as well as awards for best direction and best acting. The winners will be decided by an expert jury.

The Cultural Center reminds that the Festival of Dramatic Amateurs of Montenegro has been an important space for the affirmation of actors, directors and playwrights for decades, and that its significance goes beyond the borders of the country.

"The Festival of Dramatic Amateurs of Montenegro is one of the oldest and most important festivals in our country. Its duration and importance oblige both the organizer and the state to continuous support in preserving and improving the event, which remains a permanent pillar of our culture," the Cultural Center said.
