The 20th Podgorica Book Fair starts today

The 20th Podgorica Book and Education Fair will be held from May 11 to 17 at TC BIG FASHION, under the slogan "Let's build culture." Over the course of seven days, visitors will have the opportunity to visit more than 100 exhibitors and choose from over 100.000 titles, with fair discounts.

This year, the fair will once again bring together significant domestic, regional and international literary names. Among the guests are winners of major European and world awards, including: Anna Merino i Jonas Lisher, whose works will be presented to the audience in Podgorica.

The event offers a diverse program that includes book promotions, talks with authors, panel discussions, workshops, exhibitions and theatrical content, confirming its status as one of the most significant cultural events in Montenegro and the region.

The patrons of the fair are the Ministry of Culture and Media and the Capital City of Podgorica, with the support of the Parliament of Montenegro, the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, and the Ministry of European Affairs.

On the first day of the fair, May 11th, an exhibition will be opened and numerous promotions will be held, including: a classic of Serbian dramatic literature, Dusan Kovačević, who will open the fair and later present his “Selected Works”. The same day, the Anonymous photography exhibition will open, where the author will talk about the work. Friday, May 15th is dedicated to contemporary literature and the strong presence of female authors. Among the participants are: Lana Bastašić, Laura Barna, Ana Merino, Žana Gardašević, including Sasa Knezevic. The program also includes conversations with Rajko Grlić, Stefan Bošković i Marina Vujčić, while the evening ends with a book promotion Ivice Ivanisevica.

Saturday, May 16th brings the final day of the fair with numerous promotions and professional programs. Among the authors and participants, the following stand out: Goran V. Djordjevic, Zoran Avramovic, Goran Savic Ostojic, Enes Halilovic... The program includes publishing and scientific promotions, as well as final literary discussions with several contemporary authors.

The fair will close on May 17th, with a series of promotions, talks and meetings with authors, thus rounding off another edition of the event that has been one of the central places of literary and cultural life in Montenegro for two decades.
