Festival dedicated to preserving the memory of the Budva jazz trumpeter and trombonist Nikola Mim Mitrović "Mimo's Jazz Fest" will be held from May 20th to 23rd, organized by the NGO Feral Society from Budva.

Mitrović, as stated in the organizers' statement, spread the glory of his city throughout European jazz scenes during his lifetime, contributed to the creation of the jazz scene in Budva, and passed on knowledge and love for this musical direction to young people.

The aim of the event is to develop the jazz scene in Montenegro and encourage young musicians from Montenegro to develop an awareness of jazz and a love for this musical direction, which is not dominantly represented in education, following the example of Mim Mitrović.

The festival will open on May 20th at 21 pm, in the area between the churches in the Old Town of Budva, with an event that will also mark 10 years of work of the Feral Society. He will perform on the Budva stage with his trio, which, in addition to him, consists of Jan Stefanovski on the drums and Ivan Kukić on the bass guitar.

A special segment of the festival will be dedicated to the education of young musicians. The lecturers are prominent jazz musicians brought together by this year's artistic director of the music workshops and the Mimo's Sextet band.
