The international character and growing reputation of the Montenegro International Piano Festival were confirmed this year by the great interest of young artists from different parts of the world in the festival segment of the competition.

Due to the large number of applications and inquiries from abroad, the organizers have decided to extend the application deadline until May 15, 2026.

The competition, which will be held in Kotor from June 15 to 17, is already bringing together young pianists from numerous countries in Europe, Asia and North America. Among the registered candidates are participants from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Spain, Italy, Greece, Romania, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Japan, the United States, Turkey, Russia, Albania, Kosovo, Serbia and Montenegro, which confirms this year's edition as one of the most internationally diverse to date.

The wide range of generations it brings together, from the youngest participants aged eight, who are just beginning their artistic formation, to young professional pianists and students of prestigious academies within the Montenegro Grand Prix category, also gives the competition a special value. It is precisely this combination of young talents and artists on the threshold of international careers that makes the MIP Piano Competition a unique platform for the development, exchange of experiences and affirmation of new pianistic names.

The MIP Piano Competition is held within the framework of the Montenegro International Piano Festival, which this year was included in the catalogue of the prestigious Alink-Argerich Foundation, further confirming its position on the international music scene. The festival and competition foster high professional standards through an international jury composed of prominent artists and pedagogues, membership in the Alink-Argerich network, as well as a prize fund of 10.000 euros.

In addition to the competition, participants will also have concrete professional opportunities - concert engagements in cooperation with international partners Cristoforium and WPTA Spain, as well as the possibility of recording a CD release in cooperation with the KNS Classical publishing house. After last year's edition, the winner Faruk Kalayci released the album Divine, confirming the continuity of support for young artists even after the end of the festival.

The organizers invite elementary and secondary music schools, as well as music academies, to take advantage of the extended deadline and register their students to participate in one of the most important piano events in the region.
