President of the Municipality of Danilovgrad Aleksandar Grgurović He said that the festival represents one of the most significant cultural events that Danilovgrad has produced, emphasizing that the focus of the local administration is directed specifically at children and families.
"Through culture, we want to show how important children and families are and that they represent the true wealth, the essence and core of our work," said Grgurović.
Independent Advisor for Film and Theater Activities at the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro, Ognjen Damjanović, emphasized that the Ministry will continue to support the Municipality of Danilovgrad and the Danilovgrad Cultural Center in the future, especially when it comes to the development of theater activities.
Business Director of the Danilovgrad Cultural Center Milivoje Lakić He emphasized that the organizers' goal is for the festival to completely revitalize the city and bring new energy to the community.
"During the seven festival days, we will have 14 performances in the main program and 17 supporting events, a large number of outdoor workshops and activities that connect culture and tourism. We want to show that through culture we can live more beautifully and that we are creating an event that will last," said Lakić.
Representative of the festival's artistic committee Danica Rajkovic She pointed out that creating the program was a demanding but inspiring process, especially due to the inclusion of children and their interests in the festival concept itself.
"Seven festival days, six countries and 32 programs best speak of the significance and scope of the festival. Artists and theaters from Greece, Germany, Italy, Russia, Serbia and Montenegro are participating in the program," said Rajković, adding that the festival will open on May 25th at 12 noon on the city bridge with the musical and stage spectacle "Krokorokodilosi" by the author Bojan Ivković.
Author of the festival's visual identity Vuk Pekovic He said that the idea was for the complete visual expression to be close to children and inspired by their view of the world, and he also referred to the workshops that will be implemented as part of the accompanying program.
"We want children to feel that they can be a part of what they see on stage. When it comes to visual identity, throughout the work process I relied on children's drawings and playful colors, so that everything would be accessible to a child, and not just formal or commercial," said Peković.
Representative of the festival organizing committee Slavisa Grubisa He explained that the selection of performances was created through a combination of invitations and applications from theaters, with the basic criteria being the quality and diversity of the program.
"We made sure that the festival offered content for children of all ages and that every child found something for themselves," Grubiša pointed out.
A special segment of the festival will be a children's jury, so 14 performances from the main program will be judged by children.
The First International Children's Theater Festival in Danilovgrad will bring together numerous artists with the aim of affirming children's creativity, developing cultural content for the youngest, and positioning Danilovgrad as an important center of cultural events for children and youth.
