On the occasion of Montenegro's Independence Day, the exhibition of the Matica Crnogorska "Medova 1916-2026, the suffering of Montenegrin volunteers under Medova 1916", dedicated to one of the most tragic events in Montenegrin history, will be opened today at the Montenegrin Cultural Center in Lovćenac.
The Montenegrin Foundation has organized the exhibition "The Suffering of Montenegrin Volunteers under Medovo 1916-2026", which illustrates the journey of Montenegrin volunteers from the USA and Canada, their suffering and the erection of the "Lovćenska vila" monument on fifteen panels, on the occasion of marking the 110th anniversary of this unfortunate event. The exhibition also presents lists of victims and survivors. The exhibition will be opened by Radonja Dubljevic, Commissioner of the Matica Crnogorska for the Republic of Serbia.
The program in Lovćenac begins at 18 p.m. and will include the laying of flowers at the busts of Petar II Petrović Njegoš and King Nikola I Petrović, as well as the premiere of the book “The Crusader, Montenegro and the 2006 Referendum”. The cultural and artistic part will feature performances by the CKPD “Princeza Ksenija” from Lovćenac and the Ethno Group “Trn” from Vrbas.
The organizers of the event are the Association of Montenegrins in Serbia “Krstaš” and the Matica Crnogorska.
