The Fokalizator publishing house will organize a celebration marking 20 years of Montenegrin independence at the Podgorica Book Caffe tomorrow evening (Tuesday, May 19) at 19 p.m., they announced.
The celebration program, which is divided into two segments, will feature some of the most important figures from the fields of politics, science, and culture in Montenegro.
The panel "Montenegrin State and Culture from the Restoration of Sovereignty to the Present Day" is scheduled for 19 p.m., and will feature Ranko Krivokapić, Janko Ljumović, Ljiljana Karadžić, Dragutin Papović, Miloš Vukanović, Dragana Erjavšek, and moderator Vladimir Vojinović.
At 20 p.m., a panel discussion titled Translated Montenegrin Literature as an Ambassador of Culture 2006–2026 will be organized, during which participants will promote issue 31 of the Fokalizator magazine, a special edition and the first volume of that publication printed entirely in color. The promotion will be attended by Andrej Nikolaidis, Aleksandar Bečanović, Stefan Bošković, Nikola Nikolić, Vladimir Vojinović, Sofija Lopičić, and moderator Dragana Erjavšek.
The special issue of the journal Fokalizator, entitled Found in Translation: Two Decades of Montenegrin Literature and Culture, brings a selection of books translated into foreign languages, by authors Sreten Perović, Jevrem Brković, Mladen Lompar, Balša Brković, Pavle Goranović, Sreten Asanović, Husein Bašić, Zuvdija Hodžić, Branislav Brković, Jovan Nikolaidis, Olja Knežević, Dragan Radulović, Aleksandar Bečanović, Vojislav Pejović, Andrej Nikolaidis, Ognjen Spahić, Vladimir Vojinović, Stefan Bošković, Nikola Nikolić, Ilija Đurović, Tijana Rakočević and Ljubomir Đurković.
The new issue of Focalizator also analyzes twenty years of Montenegrin theater, film, visual arts, musical arts, journalism, and cultural memory, and the authors of these texts are Janko Ljumović, Sehad Čekić, Ljiljana Karadžić, Tijana Jovović, Miloš Vukanović, and Dragana Erjavšek. The journal also published a bibliography of translated Montenegrin literature 2006-2026, prepared by Dragana Marković.
