The literary evening "Voices of Contemporary Montenegrin Poetry" will be held today in Kotor, as part of the "City that Remembers" program, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Montenegro's independence. The event is organized by the Public Institution Cultural Center "Nikola Đurković" Kotor, City Libraries and Reading Rooms, in the Multimedia Hall of the Cultural Center, at 20 p.m.
"The 'Voices of Contemporary Montenegrin Poetry' program will attempt to create a kind of cross-section of poetry created between 2006 and 2026, but also to raise questions about how poetic language has changed, what we recognize as contemporary poetics today, and how poetry responds to the social, political, and existential changes of the time in which it is created," the statement announced.
They participate in the conversation. Jelena Knezevic, Kemal Music i Jasmina Bajo.
"A special segment of the evening will be dedicated to the reading of selected poetry by contemporary Montenegrin poets, which will be interpreted by students of Kotor high schools, thus connecting different generations of readers and confirming that poetry remains one of the most authentic spaces for dialogue, personal experience and shared memory," the announcement reads.
