The gala concert of the Chamber Orchestra of the Accademia di Santa Sofia from Naples was held last night on the Main Stage of the Montenegrin National Theatre, and the audience enjoyed the most famous compositions. Nina Rote i Ennio Morricone from the cult films “A Fistful of Dollars”, “The Good, the Bad, the Ugly”, “Once Upon a Time in the Wild West”, “The Godfather”, “Amarcord” and others.
Director of the Montenegrin National Theatre Ilija Subotić said that the national theatre was once again a meeting place for the audience and artists of exceptional creative reputation, emphasizing that the concert in Podgorica is part of the Santa Sofia Academy's international tour, which will continue in Helsinki, Budapest, Cluj, Los Angeles and other world centers.
Among the large audience were the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic i Andrea Marcela.
Artistic Director of the Santa Sofia Academy Marcella Partiale She expressed her gratitude for the hospitality and said that she hopes for long-term cooperation with Montenegro.
"We are overjoyed and honored by the welcome we received here. We hope that this will be the beginning of stable and continuous cooperation with Montenegro. The presence of the President of the State and the Ambassador of Italy is especially meaningful to us, as a strong sign of friendship," said Parcijale.
Chamber orchestra, led by the first violin Rikardom Zamunerom, gave a special touch to the compositions of Rota and Morricone, while the audience rewarded each performance with long applause.
"The atmosphere in the theater was magical. We felt a strong connection with the audience, and the music of Nino Rota and Ennio Morricone has a special emotional value for us because we grew up with it," said Zamuner.
The encore, when the orchestra performed the song "Još ne sviće rujna zora (The dawn of September has not yet dawned), caused particular enthusiasm. Zamuner revealed that the idea was to present the audience with a Montenegrin piece, and the sheet music was provided by the music editor of CNP. Ivana Canović.
Subotić reminded that the concert is part of the successful 72nd season of the CNP in the field of music and music-stage activities, during which the Milan Scala Academy and the Milan Scala Chamber Orchestra were guests in Podgorica.
CNP Music Editor Ivana Čanović announced that the audience can expect a rich program in the 73rd season, including a concert performance of the opera "Carmen" by Georges Bizet, as well as symphonic repertoire and performances by chamber ensembles.
