The first International Children's Theatre Festival in Danilovgrad will be officially opened today on the plateau in front of the city bridge "Radovan Pavicevic" at 12 noon. The festival will be officially opened by the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic and so this city will for the first time become the host of a major international cultural event dedicated to the youngest audience.
The opening ceremony will also be addressed by the Mayor of Danilovgrad Municipality. Aleksandar Grgurovic, Advisor for Film and Theatre Activities at the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro Ognjen Damjanovic, as well as the business director of the Danilovgrad Cultural Center Milivoje Lakić.
"The festival will open with the musical and theatrical spectacle "Boki i Krokorokodilosi", in which the youngest audience's favorite TV personality will perform with his band, Bojan Ivkovic. "The program brings a combination of music, dance, humor, and interaction with the audience, which will symbolically begin the first festival edition dedicated to children and theater," the statement announced.
The program of the first day of the festival continues at 15 p.m. in the hall of the Danilovgrad Cultural Center, where the accompanying program will include the play "We Children from the Zoo Station", intended for audiences aged 15 and over. This is a production of the Royal Theatre Zetski dom from Cetinje, for which he directed Andrija Rasovic.
At 17 pm, a concert by students of the Art School for Music and Ballet "Vasa Pavić" - Danilovgrad branch will be held at the Danilovgrad Homeland Museum, while at 18 pm, a workshop "We are all equally valuable, different and important" is planned at the National Library "Mihailo Miho Vuković", led by Milijana Vujović.
"During the festival, the audience can expect a rich accompanying program: comic book, puppetry, pottery, reading and educational workshops, as well as numerous interactive content for children and parents. All workshops are free, and those interested can reserve a place by calling 068290444," the organizers say.
The Danilovgrad Cultural Center invites all citizens, parents and children to be part of the first International Children's Theater Festival and participate in creating a unique festival atmosphere in Danilovgrad, which will last from today until May 31st and, through a rich main and supporting program, bring together artists and participants from six countries and offer a total of 32 programs intended for the youngest audience during the seven festival days. A special segment of the festival will be the children's jury, so 14 performances from the main program will be judged by children.
The event is produced by the Danilovgrad Cultural Center, with the patronage of the Danilovgrad Municipality and the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro.
