The foundations of a new cultural tradition have been laid in Danilovgrad

The first edition of the International Children's Theatre Festival in Danilovgrad, which has transformed the city into a regional centre for children's theatre over the past seven days, was officially closed tonight with a ceremony at the Danilovgrad Cultural Centre. On that occasion, the best performances chosen by the children's jury were announced and awards were presented to those who contributed to the realization of this event.

A special place at this year's festival was occupied by the children's jury, whose members monitored the performances throughout the festival and ultimately made a decision on the best theater performances.

"In this way, children were given the opportunity to participate in evaluating the festival program, which is one of the main goals of the festival, which is primarily intended for them. After awarding certificates of appreciation to the children's jury, its members announced the decisions on the main and two special awards. She worked with the children's jury Natasa Nelevic, "who received a letter of appreciation on behalf of the Association of Theatre Critics and Theatrologists of Montenegro," the statement states.

The main award for best theatre play was won by the play "Tesla", directed by Ivan Baletić and a production by the Small Theatre "Duško Radović" from Belgrade. The children's jury rated this play as the best in all categories, highlighting its artistic quality, educational content and the strong message it conveys to the audience.

The special award for the theater play with the strongest message for children was given to the play "Class Schedule", directed by Petar Pejaković and the production of the Podgorica City Theater.

The children's jury awarded a special award for the best acting expression to the play "Vilinjska gora", directed by Zoran Rakočević and produced by the NGO Korifej Theatre from Kolašin.

Certificates of appreciation were also presented to the festival volunteers – children and young people who were an indispensable part of the festival team over the previous seven days and actively participated in the creation of the festival.

On the last day of the festival, as part of the main program, the play "Vilinjska gora" from Kolašin was performed. As part of the accompanying program, the audience had the opportunity to enjoy the children's opera "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" performed by students of the Art School of Music and Ballet "Vasa Pavić".

The organizers expressed their gratitude to the Municipality of Danilovgrad, members of the organizational team, volunteers, artists, partners and all individuals who contributed to the realization of the festival with their work.

Special thanks go to the children who have been the driving force of this project from the very beginning and active participants in its creation.

The organizers say that the first edition of the festival confirmed the need for such an event and laid the foundations of a new cultural tradition in Danilovgrad, with the belief that next year the audience will be welcomed by the second edition of the International Children's Theater Festival in Danilovgrad.
