Nikola Vukčević's "Obraz" begins a major European tour

After a successful start in Tirana, the successful Montenegrin film story "Obraz" continues its journey through cinemas and festivals in Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia, where it will compete in the main competition program "Awakening of the Balkans". A new cinematic achievement by the famous director and head of the FILM study program, prof. dr. Nikola Vukčević, “Face”, has begun an intensive international tour in June. This striking film story has already had the opportunity to be presented to the audience in Albania, and in the first half of this month it is expected to have prestigious festival appearances and mini-distribution throughout Europe and the region. The film’s world tour was officially opened on June 3 at the University of New York Tirana, where it was met with an exceptional reception from the academic and cultural public. This tour served as a perfect introduction to the rich repertoire that the film crew expects in the coming days, confirming the universality and artistic strength of Vukčević’s new project.

Immediately after Albania, the film "Face" moves to the north of Europe, where a mini-distribution in Denmark has been secured. The Danish audience and our diaspora will have the opportunity to see the film in as many as three cities. The first stop is Kolding and the "Nicolai Biograf" cinema (June 5 at 19 pm), followed by a screening in Odense at the "Biografen" cinema scheduled for June 12 at 21 pm. The Danish tour ends in Copenhagen, on June 14 at 18 pm, at the iconic "Gloria Biograf" cinema. Director Nikola Vukčević did not hide his satisfaction with this great success, and sent an emotional message to his friends and audience in Tirana, Denmark, Ljubljana and Belgrade via social media, expressing his pride in being able to share with them the fruits of many years of work and inviting them to accompany the film story on the big screen. In the middle of the month, on June 11th at 19 p.m., the film returns to the regional framework with a screening in Slovenia, where it will be shown at the AGRFT cinema in Ljubljana. This screening has a special significance given the traditionally high standards and strict criteria of the Slovenian film critics and academic community. The crown of the first half of the June tour is reserved for Serbia and Belgrade. On Saturday, June 13th, “Obraz” will be screened as part of the prestigious Balkan Film Directing Festival. A special recognition for the film team is the fact that the film has been included in the Main Competition Program of the festival under the symbolic and inspiring title “AWAKENING OF THE BALKANS”, which opens the door to potential awards and new international successes for Vukčević’s work.
