Humor, art and quality entertainment in Cetinje

Cetinje will become the epicenter of top-notch entertainment, comedy and theater this June, says the Cultural Center of the Royal Capital of Cetinje, announcing the third edition of the Comedy and Entertainment Festival "Fun Fest Cetinje". The theater event will gather renowned artists from June 12 to 21 and bring the audience a rich theater and entertainment program on the Summer Stage, as well as a time filled with laughter, emotions and unforgettable encounters with big names on the regional scene.

"During the ten festival days, the audience can expect a carefully created program that brings together the most successful theater productions, famous acting names, and content that combines humor, art, and quality entertainment," the statement said.

The festival will be officially opened on June 12th with the hit musical “Vesele devojke”, followed by a series of performances that will shape the unique festival atmosphere over the following evenings. The musical, announced as a musical and theatrical spectacle filled with emotions, humor and songs that the audience knows and loves, will be performed at 21 pm on the Summer Stage.

"The play brings a story about friendship, memories, love and life moments that we all recognize, with the greatest hits of the ex-YU scene and an atmosphere that combines emotions, music and energy in a unique way. The following will perform on stage: Zorana Pavić, Tijana Dapčević, Maja Brukner, Jelena Đukić, Ivana Peters i Svetlana Sretenovic. "Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy an evening filled with music, laughter, and an unforgettable festival atmosphere under the open sky," say the organizers.

After the musical "Vesele devojke", the play "X+Y=0" will follow on June 13th, and it is a sharp, witty and intelligent drama. Borislav Pekić about relationships we all recognize, in top performance Katarina Zutic i Dejan Lutkić, produced by the Opera and Theatre Madlenianum, Belgrade.

The days of comedy, contemporary theater and festival energy continue with "Golf 4", whose author and performing team consists of Marija Djuric, Jelena Djukic, Marija Masa Labudovic i Maja Stojanovic, while the play is produced by the Independent Stage. Cult drama Ežena Ioneska "The Bald Singer", directed by Jagoš Marković will be performed on June 16th, and on the 17th it is in the repertoire of "Democracy" Zijah Sokolović.

“'Democracy' is not a classic play, but a staged clash of ideas that opens up one of the key questions of contemporary society: what kind of system we live in and how much we really understand it. Through Shakespeare ('Julius Caesar'), 'Antigone' and 'Prometheus', the play builds a dialogue about freedom, order and man's eternal search for meaning, connecting classical texts with the contemporary moment. Without idealization and without judgment, it functions as a mirror of the system and the man within it - an open space for questioning and reflection," the statement reads, adding that he shares the stage with Sokolović. One of the longest-running and most-watched comedies in the former Yugoslavia, the play "Women's Conversations" is on the program on June 18th.

"Created according to the texts Duško Radović, "The play, through witty, sharp and recognizable dialogues, opens up the eternal theme of relationships between women and men, bringing stories about love, marriage, everyday misunderstandings and differences that simultaneously separate and connect us. This comedy has been winning over audiences for decades, and its popularity rests on the timeless humor and Radović's anthological observations in which generations of viewers can be recognized," the announcement states. The play stars Svetlana Ceca Bojkovic, Katarina Žutić and Milan Caci Mihailovic.

The comedy "Women in Red", a humorous and emotional story about everyday problems that can easily turn into completely unexpected situations, will be performed on June 19th. Olga Odanovic, Dubravka Mijatovic, Anastasija Mandic i Sena Djorovic.

"The plot centers on Tamara and Nora, two sisters facing financial difficulties and the threat of becoming homeless. When a bank employee, Dinka, knocks on their door, a series of events begins that will turn the lives of all the heroines upside down. As the tension grows and the circumstances become increasingly absurd, a comedy filled with humor, emotions, and life's truths unfolds before the audience. In a humorous and direct way, the play speaks of solidarity, friendship, and the power of togetherness, reminding us that even the biggest problems are easier to overcome when we stand by each other," the description reads.

On June 20th, the audience will be able to enjoy the show "Welcome to Cabaret" Tanja Bošković i Rade Marjanović.

Director of the Cultural Center of the Royal Capital of Cetinje, Jelena Milosevic, She previously told "Vijesti" that "Fun Fest Cetinje" is the first comedy festival in the country, which has been held for the third year in a row, and which brought special energy and smiles to Cetinje, a city that, after everything it has experienced, needed a smile more than anything.

"On the occasion of the opening of 'Fun Fest Cetinje', an exhibition of caricatures by our famous artist will be opened in the Center's gallery on June 15th." Luke Lagator "under the title 'Award-winning cartoons', which additionally enriches the art program and brings contemporary, humorous and engaged artistic expression. In this way, we continue to build program continuity and content that makes Cetinje a lively and open cultural space," Milošević emphasized.

So, next Monday, the Gallery of the Cultural Center of the Royal Capital of Cetinje will host the debate “Comedy Today” and the opening of an exhibition of awarded and selected caricatures by Luka Lagator. The program begins at 19 p.m. with the debate “Comedy Today” which will raise questions about the role of comedy in contemporary society, its limits, challenges and importance in times of rapid social change. The discussion will feature Aleksandar Radunović Popaj, Dubravka Drakić and Lagator, while the program moderator will be Jelena Lela Milošević.

Afterwards, from 20 pm, the audience will have the opportunity to view the Luka Lagator exhibition, which will be officially opened by the cartoonist. Darko Drljevic.

Thus, in addition to the theatrical program, the festival actually brings content that further expands its artistic scope. The announcement also highlights that the grand closing of the festival on June 21st will be marked by the musical and stage spectacle "Wider Horizons", a Montenegrin Pink Floyd concept, which will bring the curtain down on this year's edition of the festival in a unique way.

The organizers also point out that they have prepared benefits for the audience when it comes to tickets.

"A package for all performances is available for 35 euros, while a package of three performances of your choice is 20 euros. Individual tickets are also on sale at prices ranging from 5 to 10 euros, to make the festival content available to the widest possible audience," the statement said.

The Center says that through a combination of conversation and visual art, the complete Fun Fest program provides an opportunity to look at contemporary social issues from the perspective of humor, satire, and caricature.
