The 55th Festival of Dramatic Amateurs of Montenegro begins

The opening ceremony of the 55th edition of the Montenegrin Amateur Drama Festival will be held today in Bijelo Polje, in the large hall of the “Vojislav Bulatović Strunjo” Cultural Center, at 20 p.m. On the eve of the ceremony, the exhibition “Tree of Life” by academic painter will also be opened. Goran Ćetković, at 7:30 PM, in the Center Gallery. After both events, at 8:15 PM, a play by the Drama Studio of the Elementary School “Risto Ratković” will be performed, in honor of the opening of the program.

The play entitled "Under the Seam" was created based on the text Ognjen Korac, Isidore Pesic, Daše Drobnjak i Come on Spahic, and directed Jelena Vujicic i Merside Puzovic.

"During the six festival days, the audience will have the opportunity to follow a rich program of 14 theater plays from Budva, Podgorica, Nikšić, Pljevlja, Gusinje, Berane and Bijelo Polje, 11 of which will be performed in the competitive part of the program. All plays will be performed on the stage of the Cultural Center, and admission to the festival programs is free," announce the organizers.

Diverse and rich repertoire

Tomorrow's repertoire at 12:00 is the Drama Group "Čiča Gliša" from the "Vuk Karadžić" Elementary School from Berane, which will, as part of the accompanying program, perform the play "Royal Festival", for which the text is written by Tode Nikoletić, and the direction Tatjana Veljic. On the same day at 21 pm, the program will feature “The Minister’s Lady”, based on the famous work Branislav Nušić directed Jovana Jelovac Cavnić produced by the Pljevlja Cultural Center.

The NGO Association for Children and Youth - Kuća, from Podgorica, will be performing the play "Autumn in My Neighborhood" on June 11th at 19 pm, for which the actors are writing the text, and the direction and dramaturgy are the responsibility of the actors. At 21 pm, a new play by the Cultural and Information Center "Budo Tomović" from Podgorica, namely Dodesto's acting workshop, will be performed. It is "Omelet" based on the text David Đoljaj, and in directing Sejf Seferović.

The drama studio of the Secondary School "Danilo Kiš" from Budva will perform the play "The Inspector" based on the play on Friday, June 12th, as part of the accompanying program. The popular play "Danilovgrad Women" by the Cultural Center from Danilovgrad, starring women from Danilovgrad, and directed and choreographed by Petar Pejaković, will be performed on Saturday, June 13th at 18 p.m. The theater segment of the program will close at 19 p.m. with a performance by the host, the Cultural Center "Vojislav Bulatović Strunjo", or the Bijelo Polje Theater. The play "Agreement" is based on the play "The Grieving Family" by Branislav Nušić, and is adapted and directed by Minja Novakovic.

“Tree of Life” opens the accompanying program

The organizers remind that the FDA will be enriched with an accompanying program, which will include the opening of the painting exhibition 'Tree of Life' by academic painter Goran Ćetković, as well as the promotion of the book by Krsto Vuković, as well as performances intended for the youngest fans of theater art.

Ćetković told "Vijesti" that this is his 50th solo exhibition and that he is particularly pleased to be presenting it in Bijelo Polje.

"The invitation came from the director of the Cultural Center Edin Smailović and I accepted it with pleasure. In Bijelo Polje I will present myself with the cycle of paintings 'Tree of Life'. The central motif is a woman. She is presented in all her beauty, both spiritual and physical... In many paintings she is represented as Venus, the goddess of beauty and fertility. She is a symbol of love, birth and the creation of life. For these reasons, the stomach, breasts, and arms are emphasized in many paintings," he said and added:

"The form is simplified, reduced and based on the contrasts of light - dark and warm - cold. In addition, the emphasis is on expressiveness and expressiveness," explained Ćetković, pointing out that the exhibition will last for about ten days...

The organizer of the theater event and all accompanying events is the Public Institution Center for Culture "Vojislav Bulatović - Strunjo" Bijelo Polje, under the auspices of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro.

The Festival of Dramatic Amateurs of Montenegro was founded in 1970 and to this day has shown and proven that amateur dramatics in Montenegro have been established, established, and consistently developed, and that there is a tendency for further growth.

"FDA is a place of positive vibrations, connections and brotherhood among people, devoid of any politics, hatred, nationalism, or religious intolerance," the organizers state.

They also emphasize that the Festival has become "a benchmark for quality not only in Montenegro but also in the wider region", reminding that performances with FDA continue to represent Montenegro at festivals in the region.
