Contemporary Montenegrin cinema will be presented to the Slovenian audience as part of the Days of Montenegrin Film in Ljubljana event, which will be held from today until June 14 at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television of the University of Ljubljana.
The program is organized by the Film Center of Montenegro in partnership with the Slovenian Film Center, with the aim of promoting contemporary Montenegrin film and strengthening professional cooperation between the film communities of Montenegro and Slovenia.
The event will open on June 11th at 19 pm with a screening of the film "Face" by director Nicholas VukčevićDuring the four festival days, the audience will also have the opportunity to watch the films "Wood, you won" Similar Šahmanović, "Otter" Srdjana Vuletic, and the film "This Good Land" Vladimir PerovićAfter the screenings of the films "Face", "Wood, You Won" and "Otter", talks will be organized with the authors and members of the film crews.
In addition to film screenings, the program also includes professional content intended for students, film professionals and the wider film public. Two master classes will be held as part of the event: "Cultural Trends in the Algorithm of Surveillance Capitalism", which will be led by the Dean of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts of Montenegro Edin Jašarović, as well as a lecture by director and professor Nikola Vukčević entitled "Principles of Storytelling: The Hero's Journey and Other Approaches".
The film centers of Slovenia and Montenegro have had intensive cooperation for years. They present themselves together at important international film festivals and cooperate in international organizations such as EFAD. In recent years, they have also successfully developed a joint international project ReActing as a Star, intended for the professional development of film actresses and actors in the region. This year's edition of the program will be held in Kranj from June 12th to 14th.
An important milestone this year is the accession of the Film Center of Montenegro to the Re-Act initiative, a regional co-production fund that encourages international co-production cooperation and the development of film projects in the region.
On the occasion of the event, a delegation from the Film Center of Montenegro will be visiting Ljubljana, consisting of the director Aleksandra Božović, Dean of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts Edin Jašarović, director and professor of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts Nikola Vukčević, director Senad Šahmanović, screenwriter Stefan Boskovic, MEDIA Desk coordinator Nikola Gudelj and program organizer Marija Jaukovic.
All screenings and accompanying programs will be held at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television of the University of Ljubljana (UL AGRFT), Aškerčeva cesta 5, Ljubljana.
