Manifestation dedicated to pianism

The second edition of the International Adriatic Piano Fest begins today and runs until June 15th in Herceg Novi, and the entire program will take place in the Park Hall.

"The festival is an event dedicated to piano, with a special focus on the competitive part of the program, and in addition to concert content, it aims to promote music education, artistic development and the affirmation of young talents," emphasize the organizers - the NGO Montenegrin Music Association.

This year, more than 60 young artists from Montenegro, the region, Italy and Lithuania have applied to participate, and the competitors will perform in nine categories (Baby, A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H), from the youngest talents to professional artists. Their performances will be judged by an expert jury consisting of: Maja Basarab, Jana Cheteleva, Amsal Ganović, Teresa Trevisan, Aleksandar Đermanović i Bojan Martinovic.

The competition program begins today, at 11 a.m., while the festival will be officially opened that same evening by last year's laureate and one of the most prominent young European pianists. Vasilije Basarab, whose concert is scheduled for 20 p.m.

As a special segment of the festival, a concert called "Maestro Radovan Papović's Evening - Music from the Montenegrin Court" will be held tomorrow at 20 p.m.

"The concert will also represent the premiere performance of the newly formed Herceg Novi chamber orchestra 'Gaudeamus', conducted by violinist William Ferdinand, it was announced in a statement.

An opera artist will perform at the concert. Jadranka Jovanović, sopranos Jovana Raznatovic, Tijana Blecic Perovic i Natasha Jovovich, violinist Luka Perazic and a pianist Dejan Krivokapic.

For the very beginning of the evening, a performance of the song "Moj grad" by the author was announced. Dragomir Karlo Đorđević, which will be performed by the student Luka Djokic.

"Workshops and masterclasses will be organized during the next two days of the festival, while the finale of the event on June 15th will be marked by the awarding of diplomas, certificates of appreciation and awards, as well as a concert by the first-place winners," the organizers say.

Admission is free for all festival programs.
