From Durmitor legends to forgotten melodies

This year, the Wild Beauty Art Festival confirms that art is not limited to concert stages and musical performances. In addition to a rich artistic program, the festival continues to develop educational content that encourages research, learning and active exploration of the natural and cultural values ​​of Durmitor. Through programs intended for children, young people and researchers, Wild Beauty Art opens a space for the meeting of art, science, tradition and nature.

One of the festival's key values, ecology, will once again occupy a prominent place in the program this year. Special attention will be paid to the youngest participants, who will be able to discover the world of nature and cultural heritage of the Durmitor region through interactive content.

After very positive reactions from last year's participants, the educator Sanda Ravlic will present two STEM workshops for children. Through practical work and research activities, children will have the opportunity to learn about natural processes, legends and specificities of Durmitor, while developing creativity, team spirit and awareness of the importance of environmental preservation.

A special segment of this year's educational program is the Twelfth International Research Station "Ethno-camp Dr. Zlata Marjanović-Kolašin", led by Davor SedlarevićThe camp will gather pupils, students, professors and researchers from the region in early August, with the aim of studying and documenting the rich intangible cultural heritage of Montenegro.

During fieldwork in the areas of Pljevlja, Žabljak, Šavnik and Kolašin, participants will collect and analyze traditional songs, dances, customs and other elements of folk culture. The program will also include lectures, professional workshops and activities aimed at digitizing archival materials, which will contribute to their preservation and accessibility for future generations.

Special attention will be paid to the youngest audience. Children will have the opportunity to participate in traditional singing workshops and, through artistic expression, to create a stronger connection with the cultural identity and heritage of the area in which they live.

Speaking about the importance of this project, Davor Sedlarević emphasized that one of the most important goals of the camp is to connect research work with local communities.
