Duo Asja Valčić (cello) and Sebastijan Šnajder (piano) will perform tomorrow at the Tivat Music Festival (TMF), bringing a combination of classical music and jazz, virtuosoally intertwined in the story "Sun and Moon - music that explores duality", which is the focus of the compositions of their joint debut album. The duo will perform at the Royal Blue Resort & Residences at 8:30 PM.

"Formed in 2024, the duo has already attracted attention with its striking artistic expression, performances throughout Austria and a successful tour in China. Through the combination of cello and piano, they explore the contrasts that shape human experience: between stillness and movement, joy and sadness, structure and freedom, day and night, combining classical tradition with improvisation and European jazz. Their performance is characterized by expressive sonic depth, chamber musicality and a dialogue between two equal soloists, in which virtuosity and poetics naturally intertwine," the organizers' statement emphasizes.

Valčić, inviting the audience to the concert, said that she was looking forward to performing at the TMF, especially because of her origin from Boka.

"I want to invite the people of Tivat and their guests to come to our concert. It is not easy to guess my Tivat origins from my last name, but my great-grandfather Krsto Staničić and the Staničić family built one of the first houses on the pier in Tivat (Staničić pier, today Pine), so my mother is also a native of Tivat, as is my aunt Maja Perfiljeva. We are happy to perform at the Tivat Music Festival, because we have been coming to Tivat for years for summer holidays and we are very glad that this time we will be able to show what we do in life. Welcome to our concert at the Tivat festival," said Valčić.

Some of the compositions that the audience will have the opportunity to hear at the concert are: "Sad Waltz", "Lunar Mind", "Timeless" and "Sunny Walk".

"The duo's artistic quality is also reflected in recent awards: Sebastian Schneider was nominated for the Amadeus Award and the Austrian Jazz Award 2024, while Asja Valcic received nominations for the German Music Critics' Award and the Austrian Jazz Award 2025," the organizers state.

Free transportation for the audience is provided at 20 pm from the bus station in the center of Tivat. The number of seats is limited.

The Tivat Music Festival takes place from June 25th to August 15th at various locations in the city.
