Milica and Ivo's love story comes to life at the Nobel Prize Winner's House

Last night, a poetic-musical lyrical performance "A Love Story - Milica and Ivo", dedicated to love, was performed at the House of Nobel Prize winner Ivo Andrić. Milice Babić i Ivo Andrić and the years they spent together in Herceg Novi.

The performance took the audience through a story of love that lasted for decades, and was based on Andrić's works "Jelena, the Woman Who Doesn't Exist" and "Signs Along the Road", his writings about Herceg Novi, as well as letters to Milica Babić - the woman he had been waiting for for almost thirty years.

The author of the text and director of the duodrama is Vitka Vujnović, while they were playing in the play Lydia Petron i Dejan ĐonovićTheir acting interpretation was followed by Bosiljka Kulišić on the accordion and Nicholas Moreta on the guitar.

The musical segment of the performance consisted of well-known compositions that naturally connected to "A Love Story", as well as the author's theme "Memory".

"In fact, I don't grieve that she died, but that she was mortal, and in every way she deserved more and better than that. Now I see: while she lived here next to me, I should have been not perhaps more happy, because that was not possible, but more aware of my happiness. That could and had to be," is a quote attributed to Andrić after Milica Babić's death.

Through a combination of poetry, music, and acting, the audience had the opportunity to peek into the intimate world of two people whose love left a deep mark on the life and work of one of the greatest writers from this region.
