Vocal spectacle by the choir "Perpetuum Jazzile" for the end of the 43rd "Days of Music" in Herceg Novi

The 43rd "Days of Music" festival closed with a brilliant concert by the world-famous Slovenian a cappella choir "Perpetuum Jazzile", which has gained an international reputation for its unique performances in which it creates the sound of a full orchestra using only human voices.

With original arrangements of famous hits in pop, rock, funk, ethno and classical styles, Perpetuum Jazzile delighted the audience at Marina Square in Portonovo, who enjoyed and danced to songs by Michael Jackson, Queen, ABBA, Oliver Dragojević and other famous performers, writes the RTHN portal.

The choir was founded in 1983 in Slovenia, and member Nataša Jovanović, who has been with the ensemble the longest, pointed out that both the audience and the ambiance were extraordinary.

"We cover different genres, songs and styles, and that makes us special, I can say that even in the world. We imitate instruments with voices and different vocal effects - everything is a cappella and everything is performed live. We choose the repertoire together; someone suggests a song we like, and we cover it in our style. Sometimes we perform classical, sometimes funk or some other genre. The evening was beautiful, the audience welcomed us wonderfully and it is precisely for moments like these that we have been performing for decades," said Jovanović.

Choir member Kristijan Virtić believes that "Perpetuum Jazzile" stands out for its originality and authenticity.

"There is a lot of artificial intelligence and technology in music today. We strive to create naturally, to imitate new instruments and different musical styles with our voices. We are currently also exploring electronic music, so we try to always offer something new," Virtić pointed out.

Maestro and artistic director of the "Days of Music" festival, Boris Kraljević, expressed his satisfaction with the entire program of this year's edition, as well as with the cooperation with the festival's partners.

"The concert was great. This is the festival's first collaboration with the Portonovi company and I hope it will become a tradition. I am almost certain that this will not be the last performance of the Perpetuum Jazzile group within the "Days of Music". These are exceptional vocalists, many of whom are academically educated, and what distinguishes them, as well as all the artists performing at our festival, is their love for music and professionalism. Since the first edition of the festival, we have witnessed top performances and high artistic quality, which has been our main guideline in creating the program from the beginning. Anyone who organizes a festival knows that without constant progress there is no success. The program breakthrough on the last festival evening confirms this, because only with a quality, interesting and content-rich program can we justify the trust of our numerous and loyal audience," said Kraljević.

The festival is sponsored by the Municipality of Herceg Novi and the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro, with support from the Tourist Organization and the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Podgorica. Partners are Herceg Fest, the Herceg Novi Music School and Portonovi.
