“Star blink” performed for the first time in front of an audience

At the Tivat Music Festival on Saturday evening, the Viennese quartet Alpha Trianguli performed in the Luštica Bay amphitheater, whose music is inspired by the beauty and infinity of the universe.

The Tivat audience had the opportunity to attend the world premiere of the performance of the work "Star Blink".

In addition, the Viennese quartet presented their debut album “Entering Zero Gravity”, released in 2023 on the Swiss label Unit Records. Visitors heard compositions such as “Castor & Pollux”, “Deep Field”, “Lemon Light”, “180 Seconds to a New World” and “Space and Soul”, and were guided through this stellar journey by trombonist Alois Eberl, vibraphonist Florian Klinger, bassist Filip Kienberger and drummer Jakob Kamerer, who announced the compositions.

On a seemingly starless night, Alpha Trianguli took the audience through the Milky Way and other galaxies with his jazz tracks, interwoven with energetic and calm soundscapes and the dialogue of the instruments of the four musicians.

Drummer Jakob Kammerer expressed his satisfaction with his stay in Montenegro, emphasizing that the performance at the Tivat Music Festival was a special experience for the quartet.

"It's wonderful to be here. The country is beautiful, and everyone takes good care of us, above all respecting our music, which is always especially important for us as musicians - that people enjoy what we perform, like tonight. This is our first time in Montenegro, and we are performing in four cities. In addition to Tivat, we will play in Kotor, Žabljak and Podgorica. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know your country and we are grateful to everyone who made it possible for us," said Kamerer.

For trombonist Alois Eberl, the band's founder, staying in Montenegro is also something special, he says.

"This is my first time here, and I saw how beautiful the country is from the plane, which I was further convinced of while touring the city and walking along the sea. I'm glad that we're here on a mini-tour and that we'll get to know other cities and their audiences. We gathered in 2021 because, in addition to music, my great loves are astrophysics and astrophotography. We usually show my photos on the big screen at concerts, and now we've only managed to show a small part. That's also my inspiration while composing, and Florian and Filip compose alongside me," said Eberl.

"The message we want to convey is that the Earth is so beautiful and unique and that we should protect it. I believe that there is no place in the universe like our planet. Even if we manage to go to Mars, all our problems will still remain," the trombonist emphasized.

The concert by the Alpha Trianguli neighborhood kicked off the “Summer in Motion” program segment of the Tivat Music Festival. The concert's organizing partners were KotorArt, the Embassy of Austria, and Luštica Bay.

The Tivat Music Festival takes place from June 25th to August 15th at various locations in the city.
