"Mirandolina" na Purgatorijama

“The Innkeeper Mirandolina is one of the most famous female characters in the history of theater. She celebrates the authentic strength of Woman, her intelligence, wisdom, Eros of life, creativity, desire for independence and freedom. In her, the primal strength of Woman finds its exciting and humorous form. Carlo Goldoni wrote the comedy “The Innkeeper” in 1751, and it was first performed in 1753 in Venice. Since then, Mirandolina has lived on theater stages, outdoing men and the misogynistic Knight Ripafrata, fighting for dignity, both her own and that of her gender. She is a feminist from the 18th century. In men's fantasies, she is the Devil, Venus, Padrona, Harlot, Whore, Saint, Sorceress. She is the Siren who enchants men and takes away their reason. A dangerous woman. Whether she is imagined as a Siren or a pin-up, in any visual form she is a symbol of a self-conscious, rebellious woman. In inherits the experience and tactics from various times with which women seduced men and fought with them in a merciless battle of the sexes.
