The work of the expert-negotiating team chosen by the government to prepare a model for the selection of a potential investor for the construction of the Verige bridge with a bypass around the Tivat has slowed down, because the UNESCO organization must give its consent to special documentation that must be done in accordance with the provisions of the special purpose coastal development plan. area.
"The government has not given up on this project and I consider it one of the priorities in the work of the Ministry of Transport. Without UNESCO's approval of the preliminary project and the "hi study" (a study related to ecology), the removal of Kotor from the UNESCO list would be called into question. It is the government's responsibility to work on the project when the legal conditions for it are created," said the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Osman Nurković, in the parliament.
Independent MP Aleksandar Damjanović asked the minister at what stage the implementation of the Verige bridge project is and whether the Government has given up on it.
Among other things, Nurković said that in 2017, the conceptual design of the bridge with access roads, the justification study for its construction and the environmental protection study were completed.
Damjanović reminded that three years ago, the Government formed an expert-negotiating team of 15 members that should prepare a model for the selection of a potential investor for the construction of the Verige bridge with a bypass around Tivat.
"The reason for this question is the dialogue we had last year when you said that there was interest from Azerbaijan in this project. The expert team receives significant allowances paid by Monteput, and before entering into that project we should have known what our obligations were. works because of the need for the Porto Novi project, so then it was necessary to consider that it should also be an obligation of the investor," said Damjanović.
