Tonight, the Parliament of Montenegro, with the votes of the ruling DPS-SD coalition and minority parties, adopted the Law on the budget for the next year, the integral part of which is the amendment of the DPS to reserve 5,5 million euros in the budget of the Ministry of Transport for the national air carrier Montenegro Airlines.

That money will be used as explained "in the case of the need to fulfill obligations if the legal prerequisites for its use are provided".

DPS proposed the amendment after the Ministry of Transport submitted to the Ministry of Finance on December 25, as written in the amendment, an innovative request on the issue.

The budget for the next year is projected at 2,38 billion euros, and 556 million euros will be missing to cover all costs.

SDP deputy Ranko Krivokapić and independent deputy Neđeljko Rudović voted against the budget.

SDP MP Raško Konjević was also in the hall, but he did not vote.

During the discussion in the parliament, the Minister of Finance Darko Radunović said that the budget for the next year is the result of the continuation of fiscal consolidation measures aimed at reducing the deficit and public debt.

The minister explained that the budget is planned conservatively, to ensure regular payment of salaries, pensions and social benefits.

The opposition assessed that in creating the budget proposal for 2019, the Government deviated from the fiscal strategy and the guidelines of the Marco-Economic Policy, that there is no increase in the standard of living of citizens and the minimum wage, and on an annual level, about 500 million euros are missing to cover all costs.

Deputies adopted the financial plans of six regulatory agencies for 2019, as well as amendments to the law on financing local self-government.
