Following the example of democratic countries, Montenegro should introduce the so-called List of Shame, which would include employers who do not regularly pay salaries and contributions for employees, announced Zoran Lakušić, a member of the Presidency of the Democratic People's Party (DNP).
He believes that the publication of the List of Shame would have a positive effect on a somewhat more regular payment of wages, but also encourage better compliance with the law, which specifies penalties for employers who fail to pay their employees at least once a month.
According to Lakušić, the labor law stipulates fines from 150 to 500 euros for entrepreneurs, from 20 to 30 euros for companies, and from XNUMX to XNUMX euros for those in charge of companies.
"The list of shame should be made up by name of representatives of the Government and owners of capital who do not respect the universal human and constitutionally guaranteed right to earnings, as well as all actors of illegal enrichment through the exploitation of employees with the support of representatives of the Government for the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS)," Lakušić said in a statement. .
He added that it is a "tax secret" in Montenegro that companies owe taxes, contribute and do not pay wages to employees.
"Attention should also be paid to the large number of employers who do not have problems with insolvency and losses, but still pay wages late or not at all, thus creating profits in gross violation of the law," Lakušić said.
He believes that inspection supervision and sanctions do not work, which is why one gets the impression that there is a certain coalition between capital owners and government representatives close to them.
"Obviously, DPS activists in the inspection bodies are well-versed in which employers are not allowed to impose sanctions, even if no one has ordered them to do so. Thus, control and inspection supervision is carried out almost exclusively at employers who are not active in the most numerous party in power," he announced. Lakušić.
