The first Montenegrin-British business forum: How to attract investors from the UK and use experiences from the region

The first Montenegrin-British business forum will be held on 5-6. on February 2016 at the Regent Porto Montenegro hotel in Tivat, it was announced from the non-governmental organization United Kingdom Alumni Network (MAUK), which organizes the event in cooperation with the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Montenegro and the Chiving Foundation from London

"Representatives of the business communities and governments of the two countries, international and regional institutions, organizations and associations will meet at a gathering that will be opened by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro Igor Lukšić. The aim of the forum is to exchange experiences, best practices and innovative ideas on on the topic of strengthening Montenegrin-British economic cooperation and encouraging British investments," the MAUK announcement states.

The forum will consist of three panels and a session for networking and connecting participants.

"The panels will cover the following topics: the business environment in Montenegro, including current regulations and ways to create an environment that will attract British businesses; success stories and challenges faced by foreign businesses in Montenegro and good practices for future investors; and possible regional cooperation and the use of the experiences of other countries in the direction of encouraging new investors. The panelists will be representatives of the governments of Montenegro and Great Britain, representatives of British and other foreign companies active in Montenegro, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, the Council of Foreign Investors and the Business Alliance, representatives of regional networks for promoting British investments, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and many others. partners interested in promoting business and improving the business environment in Montenegro.

The opening ceremony of the forum is on Friday, February 5, 2016, at 17:XNUMX p.m. in the "Ballroom Teodo" hall at the Regent Porto Montenegro hotel in Tivat, where Vice President Lukšić and the British Ambassador to Montenegro Ijan Viting will address the participants.

The organizer of the MAUK forum is a non-profit association of Montenegrin professionals who have completed their studies in Britain. MAUK was founded in 2013 with the support of the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Podgorica and the Čivning Foundation with the aim of improving relations between Montenegro and Great Britain and using the acquired education and skills for projects that contribute to the development of Montenegro. MAUK's previous projects include regional liaison with related organizations and promotion of study and scholarship programs in the United Kingdom.
