The problems of the former workers of the Košuta factory in Cetinje are not within the competence of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, its representatives announced today, adding that they have requested additional information on the matter from other competent institutions.
The board of former employees turned to the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare on May 6 this year to resolve the issue of outstanding claims of former employees from the bankruptcy estate, the sale of the assets of this company, as well as the payment of compensation in the amount of 500 euros per year of service for former employees.
"As the present problems that were presented in the address of the former employees are not within the competence of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, on May 20 and July 21, that government department addressed the competent institutions, namely the Commercial Court, the Ministry of Economy and the Capital City of Cetinje, with a request to provide information about the status and events related to that company", the announcement states.
In connection with the mentioned letters, as they added, the information was submitted on July 23 by the Ministry of Economy, which stated that the mentioned problems are not under the competence of that department, but of the bankruptcy administrator and the Commercial Court.
"No information has been submitted from other competent institutions," the announcement states.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, as they announced, was informed in communication with the President of the Commercial Court that the representatives of the Board of Former Workers of the Košuta Company will be received in the office of the President of the Court on August 3.
The workers protested in front of the building of the Cetinje Municipality in the previous days, demanding a solution to their problems that have been going on for 20 years.
They are also asking for the connection of pensions during the bankruptcy proceedings from 1996 to 2005.
