"Kaizen management", a successful Japanese business system, will be implemented for the first time in the company "Interproduct" from Cetinje.
According to Anđela Gajević, adviser in the Directorate for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, with the support of experts from Japan, Kaizen education was started at "Interproduct", and the goal of Kaizen, as she claims, is to improve business, with a focus on workers and continuous progress.
"This business term, well known to successful companies, was created from the words "kai" (change) and "zen" (improvement), which means "constant improvement". The fact that "Interproduct" has been striving for "constant improvement" for years is also indicated by the fact that since its creation in 1998, this company has been constantly expanding and increasing both in terms of basic assets and personnel, and in 2014 they won the "Best from Montenegro" award. for the best domestic company. In terms of capacity, the company expanded spatially twice, the last reconstruction was carried out in 2009, which increased the capacity by about 100% compared to the previous one. Another capacity expansion is planned in the coming period, as well as an increase in the number of products in order to meet demand on the domestic and foreign markets," the Japanese Agency for International Cooperation said in a statement.
"The introduction of the "Kaizen system" is of key importance for the company, because the owner cannot see all the activities of the employees when the company reaches a certain size of the organization. In this case, it is necessary to continuously and automatically improve the activities of each sector in order to establish a productive and efficient organizations," said Takashi Kimura, a JICA consultant from Japan.
He believes that this is a big challenge for "Interproduct" in order to transform the company from an SME to a large company.
"From the Directorate for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, they point out that there is interest in the introduction of "Kaizen management" in other Montenegrin companies, but that for now only "Interproduct" has fulfilled all the prerequisites for the introduction of the Japanese business system, which has been verified worldwide to guarantee successful business. The introduction of "Kaizen management" is only a natural continuation of the progress of a Montenegrin company that has already successfully completed a mentoring project, which is being implemented by the Directorate for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises of Montenegro and the Japanese Agency for International Cooperation - JICA," the announcement reads.
