The Secretariat for Development Projects will publish an advertisement for the selection of mediation agents when applying for the acquisition of Montenegrin citizenship through investments and agents for the evaluation of candidates' international suitability when the Government's decision on the acquisition of Montenegrin citizenship by admission enters into force.
This was officially told to "News" in the Secretariat for Development Projects, which will manage the Government's project for acquiring Montenegrin citizenship through investments.
The government decided on the project, which should start on January 1 of the following year and is limited to a period of three years, at the session on Thursday, and in order to come into force, it needs to be published in the Official Gazette. The decision has not yet been published on the Government's website.
"The Secretariat for Development Projects, as the competent authority, will publish public calls for the selection of agents for mediation and agents for the assessment of international suitability, after the entry into force and the beginning of the implementation of the Decision on the criteria, method and procedure for selecting persons who can acquire Montenegrin citizenship by admission for the purpose of implementing a special investment program of special importance for the economic and economic interest of Montenegro. Public invitations will precisely define the deadlines for submission of bids by interested parties. The competent authority selects the agents that it determines meet the conditions of the public invitation, after which the Government concludes a contract with them, which regulates the mutual rights and obligations of the contracting parties", explained the Secretariat.
The Secretariat said that when it comes to a mediation agent, he must meet the following conditions - that the responsible person in that legal entity in Montenegro or in another country has not been sentenced to an unconditional prison sentence of more than one year for the criminal offense of who is being prosecuted ex officio or the legal consequences of a conviction for such a criminal offense have ended and that for at least three years he has been performing the same or similar activities in at least three countries on the basis of a contract or license, and of that in at least one EU member state.
"The agent for the assessment of international suitability must fulfill the following conditions - that the responsible person in that legal entity in Montenegro or another country has not been sentenced to an unconditional prison sentence of more than one year for a criminal offense for which he is being prosecuted ex officio or has ceased the legal consequences of a conviction for such a criminal offense and that for at least three years it has been performing international eligibility assessment tasks", the Secretariat explained.
The candidate deposits 15.000 euros for himself in a separate account
The applicant can acquire citizenship if he has deposited 100.000 euros in the ESCROW account for the development of less developed municipalities, for the purpose referred to in Article 18 of the Law on Regional Development. He can also acquire it if he has paid at least 450.000 euros to the ESCROW account for investment purposes in one of the development projects in Podgorica or the coastal region, or an amount of at least 250.000 euros for investment purposes in one of the development projects in the northern or central region of Montenegro, except for Podgorica . The applicant must deposit 15.000 euros for himself, 10.000 for up to four family members and 50.000 for each subsequent family member.
If it is subsequently established that the person who acquired Montenegrin citizenship provided false information or intentionally concealed facts and circumstances, a decision on loss of citizenship will be issued.
