The Association of Tourist Agencies of Montenegro will be one of the partners in further strengthening the quality of the tourist offer, while the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, as announced by its representatives, will support its successful and professional functioning.
At today's meeting with the relevant minister, Branimir Gvozdenović, representatives of the Association stated that a lot of business steps had been taken and a large number of travel agencies that recognized its importance, as well as the leading global distribution system Amadeus, had become members.
"The association, which was formed in February, is a member of the Union of Employers (UPCG) and the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG), and has established contacts and agreed cooperation with similar associations in the region and Europe," the Ministry's announcement states.
At the meeting, it was assessed that there is a will for its members to be involved in the work of departmental working bodies and to achieve a partnership with state and business entities to promote Montenegro as a tourist destination, given that their work relates to both outgoing and incoming, i.e. bringing tourists into the country.
It was added that the interlocutors agreed that joint activities can significantly contribute to the promotion of the central and northern parts of Montenegro in particular.
Gvozdenović said that the Ministry is ready for cooperation in terms of the Association's participation in the processes of improving procedures and the legislative framework.
He stated that the grouping and association of business entities is particularly important, which ensures competitiveness, safety and quality in business operations and easier communication with state authorities and partners. In this context, it was proposed that the Association identify several issues of key importance, in order to approach their solution together with co-responsible subjects.
The State Secretary in the Ministry, Predrag Jelušić, said that they recognized the Association as a healthy association with which they can open issues important for the tourist offer.
"We are convinced that we will have good cooperation and that we will work together to improve both legal regulations and all those topics that are directly and indirectly related to this area," said Jelušić.
The President of the Association, Orhan Hodžić, said that they want to contribute to the tourism sector, considering that they are an organization that currently has over 50 members - renowned Montenegrin travel agencies, whose number will increase in the future.
"One of our priorities is to participate together in enriching the overall tourist offer of Montenegro, sure that through our experience and numerous partnerships we can successfully realize this. We are glad that the Ministry recognized us as a potential partner for future projects, especially because of the possibility of including our professional staff in working bodies and commissions," said Hodžić.
