The aim of the article, published in "Vijesti" on Saturday under the title "You must not hide information", that is, the part of the article under the title "Trade unionists did not publicly dispute the secrets", was to examine how many and what the representatives of the workers in the Government Council for Privatization and capital projects made it possible for that body not to declare secret the procedures of 13 privatizations at the beginning of the year. And to announce why the public, i.e. the workers, whom they represent in the Council, were not informed in time about such a decision.
It is worrying that a member of the Council does not know about such a decision, which raises doubts as to how it was made. You have been contacted because you are an important representative of workers in the Council (in this case also thematically), in addition to the other 16 members, for whose meetings you receive materials and receive compensation. You are obliged to know the decisions of the Council, including what they are secretly doing, considering that you are there to monitor and try to prevent decisions that may negatively affect them on behalf of the workers. There is no claim in the text that you personally decided to keep it secret, and it is not clear how you came to that conclusion. How did you express yourself about it, what do you think about it and what did you do to prevent such a decision, "Vijesti", according to the codes of professional journalism, intended to ask, but you did not answer the invitation. You did not even respond to the message that journalist Marija Mirjačić sent, asking you to respond to the call for comments regarding the text she is writing. We tried to find out the same from the Union of Trade Unions, which is also mentioned in the text.
By the fact that the economic column often contacts the Union of Free Trade Unions, "Vijesti" shows how important your position is in the topics we work on. It is good that you will deal with this issue, that is, something that was decided at the beginning of this year, which can have harmful consequences for companies and workers. Support in that intention.
