The Government adopted the Program of Economic Reforms

Today, the Government adopted the Program of Economic Reforms for Montenegro for the period until 2021, which defined the strategic development goal of the country, i.e. sustainable economic growth that will contribute to reducing the development gap compared to the European average.

The Government Public Relations Service announced that the Program is also a strategic document for medium-term macroeconomic and fiscal programming, which also contains an accompanying agenda of structural reforms important for reducing or eliminating obstacles to economic growth and strengthening competitiveness.

"The strategic development goal of Montenegro defined by the Program is sustainable and inclusive economic growth that will contribute to reducing the development gap compared to the EU average and increasing the quality of life of citizens," the announcement states.

The program, it is added, is fully consistent with the annual Budget Law and medium-term budget framework, as well as strategic development documents of Montenegro.

The program of economic reforms is the most important document in the economic dialogue with the European Union (EU).

Today, the government adopted the Agricultural Budget for this year, which amounts to 52,4 million euros and is 31 percent higher than last year's, which will be presented tomorrow.

The Government adopted the Decree on Customs Tariff for this year, which determines the level of customs rates for this year, in accordance with the dynamics established by the Law on Confirmation of the Protocol on the Accession of Montenegro to the Marrakesh Agreement on the Establishment of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

"The main changes in the Customs Tariff for this year refer to the reduction of customs rates and changes in the nomenclature. Annex one of the Protocol on the accession of Montenegro to the WTO for a certain number of products from the Customs Tariff, mostly agricultural products, established the so-called 'ultimate upper binding limit', which represents the customs rate that Montenegro must apply by a certain date to the import of those products. , said the Government.

The Government announced that it is prescribed that the reduction of customs rates will be implemented annually in equal stages, starting from the day of Montenegro's accession to the WTO.

The Forest Management Program for this year was adopted at the session.

"This document defines the measures for forest management by volume, type and time of implementation on an annual basis, in order to ensure sustainable management and management of this resource," the announcement states.

The goals achieved by the Program are the improvement of the situation in the field of forest management, the realization of forest management activities, the realization of obligations on cultivation and protection, the improvement of the state of forests and the creation of conditions for their sustainable use, the improvement of international cooperation and the provision of professional assistance and education of employees.

In order to harmonize with European and international acts, the Government adopted amendments to the National Program for Facilitation in Air Traffic.
