The most important thing is to put an end to the further financial depletion of the state and citizens of Montenegro after the signing of the contract on the purchase and sale of the Aluminum Complex (KAP) to Uniprom, said the representative of the ruling Social Democratic Party (SDP) Damir Šehović, as well as to stop the logic of privatization of profits and socialization losses, but also to ensure compliance with contractual obligations by the buyer.
"I want to believe that the bankruptcy proceedings did not inspire anyone to try to apply the 'Syndrome of Ulcinj Saltworks', in order to use the whole business only as a cover for obtaining property, i.e. land, which was awarded to KAP after the tender was called, so that after its conversion only earned quite a bit of money on it," Šehović told "Vijesti".
Šehović was alluding to the company from Ulcinj, which is now in bankruptcy, and which was bought by the Eurofund, which is run by people connected to businessman Veselin Barović, because of the land.
"Therefore, I hope that the signing of the contract will also mark the end of a non-transparent adventure and state bribery that has lasted for an entire decade," he said and noted that the SDP was the fiercest critic of that policy "which cost us several hundred million euros".
Šehović said that he believes that from now on, KAP will be the exclusive concern of Uniprom and its partners, and not "as before our taxpayers, who as a rule were responsible for the millions of losses that they financed from their own pockets, while the profit was always taken by someone else". .
"I expect that those who have managed the entire business since the introduction of bankruptcy in KAP have found a way to protect themselves with a contract and ensure compliance with all obligations accepted by the investor, which was not the case in almost all previous contracts that were concluded," Šehović said for our sheet.
The MP of the SDP believes that the responsibility lies both with those who directly managed the bankruptcy proceedings, and with those who tried in every possible way to avoid the debate in the Parliament, the purpose of which should have been precisely to obtain firm guarantees before the entire Montenegrin public. that the commitments undertaken by the investors and the ambitious plans announced to the public will indeed be fulfilled.
