Former workers of the former Cetinje footwear factory "Košuta" will once again protest in front of the former company. The workers have scheduled a gathering for tomorrow at 10 a.m., and this time the reason is the state's decision to sell the company and property, without the workers.
According to the organizers of this gathering, "the state, the workers will not allow such a scenario, that's why they invite everyone to gather in front of the former farica, in order to prevent another robbery and fraud".
The "Košuta" fashion footwear industry, founded more than 50 years ago, once produced a million pairs of shoes a year and employed 1.600 workers. During the "transition" this factory, as well as ten others in Cetinje, was closed, and most of the workers lost their jobs, with unpaid wages and unpaid contributions.
In the meantime, there were several attempts to privatize it, but they all ended ingloriously.
