The reconstruction of the dilapidated "Budva" hotel, which for years was a real mockery in the heart of the city, will begin today, three years since it was completely demolished and left as a building skeleton to the test of time.
Hotel "Budva", which was bought by the Nikšić company "Uniprom", is one of the few small hotels in the very center of the city, only 20 meters from the Slovenska beach and about a hundred meters from the Old Town.
The start of the construction of a brand new four-star hotel will be officially marked today by the Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism Predrag Sekulić, Mayor Lazar Rađenović and Veselin Pejović, the owner of Uniprom, to which the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism issued a building permit for the reconstruction of the hotel.
"With the reconstruction of this hotel, Budva's tourist offer will be significantly improved, and the hotel will shine with a new glow and join the already well-known hotels 'Tara' and 'Ziya', owned by our company. With the reconstruction of this hotel, the Municipality of Budva will receive a significant increase in accommodation capacity", announced the company "Uniprom".
As stated in the explanation, which was signed by Minister Sekulić, it is about two buildings - one with a ground floor and the other with three floors.
"The area of the ground floor of the building is 1.509 square meters, the total gross developed area of the building is 4.310 square meters, and the net area of the building is 3.721 square meters. The facility is intended for tourist and accommodation facilities, it will be divided into three functional units, the central part of the facility - a hotel, an independent restaurant on the southwest side and a business space with four outlets on the northwest side."
Before obtaining the construction permit, the company "Uniprom" also regulated utilities in the municipality, which was confirmed in the explanation of the issued construction permit.
"The hotel will have a central hall, administrative and staff rooms, a restaurant with a kitchen and accommodation facilities, 65 one- and two-bed rooms and seven apartments," says the explanation of the issued construction permit.
As the relevant ministry warns, the investor's right to build according to the issued construction permit ceases if he does not start construction within two years from the date of its issuance.
The investor is obliged to obtain a use permit within three years from the date of issuance of the building permit.
Before obtaining the building permit, the company "Uniprom" also regulated utilities in the Municipality, which was confirmed in the explanation of the issued building permit.
As the Municipality made a stimulating decision half a year ago to reduce by as much as 70 percent the fee for the development of city-building land for investors who intend to build high-class hotels, the company "Uniprom" also took advantage of this advantage, for which the utility billing service calculated that has to pay 90 thousand euros for the reconstruction of the hotel "Budva".
Slovenians are building a casino
The Slovenian company "HIT Montenegro", which manages the elite hotel "Maestral" in Pržno, has submitted a request to the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism for a building permit for the extension of the casino.
"It is known that 'Maestral' has been working every day of the year since its opening, when it was owned by the company 'HIT' Nova Gorica. We think that some novelty is needed inside the casino itself and some refreshment for the guests, to make them more comfortable and to keep visiting us".
"The request has been submitted and we hope to receive confirmation as soon as possible, and the reconstruction and extension is planned for the beginning of the year. The expansion will be minimal, we will stay within the existing dimensions, with minimal additions".
"We will try to ensure that, as during the construction of the new hotel port, the appearance of 'Maestral' remains as it is, so that nothing is damaged. It will expand on part of the terrace. The interior of the casino has not been changed since 2003, so it will have a completely new look", it was announced from the "Maestral" hotel.
