Electricity for households could, according to a rough estimate, become more expensive by up to 15 percent if the Energy Regulatory Agency sticks to yesterday's proposal of revenues that energy companies would collect through one-year bills.
The new prices will be valid from August 1 until the same month next year.

The Board of the Agency determined that electricity prices for all consumers will be higher by 30 million euros compared to the current ones. The final revenue proposal will be adopted when the seven-day deadline for objections expires.
The regulator granted Elektroprivreda, Elektroprenos (CGES) and Market Operator lower total revenues than required, also around 30 million.
Stronger impact since January?
Director of RAE Novak Medenica announced that when energy companies submitted requests for determining new prices, they would be higher by about 25 percent if accepted. The board did not accept that much, but it is a price increase, which will be determined exactly by the end of the month when the final income is transferred to the prices. They are obliged to announce the prices by mid-July.
According to reliable information from "Vijesti", the price of electricity will probably increase by up to five percent from August or the increase will be completely avoided, and a stronger impact would be prepared from January. Such an intention is not surprising considering that the elections are planned for the fall.
