EPCG: No restrictions are planned

The Montenegrin electric power system functions stably and, despite unfavorable weather conditions, 99,9 percent of consumers are regularly supplied with electricity, according to the EPCG announcement.

Although there was a possibility of introducing restrictions in the supply of energy, which were felt by consumers in Macedonia, Albania and Serbia, Montenegro will still overcome this emergency situation without introducing this unpopular measure, both for consumers and for EPCG.

Despite the fact that the situation has stabilized at the moment, it is still very risky, because possible accidental damage to any power facility in Montenegro and the region can again lead to a shortage of electricity.

"The electricity balance is not "closed" until the end of the week, because we expect additional stabilization of the market. Electricity is still difficult to procure, but due to the announcement of improved weather conditions, an increase in inflow is expected, which would raise the level of our reservoirs, whose already small reserves we use." it is stated in the announcement.

We remind you that the ice wave that engulfed Southeastern Europe and continuously lasted for fifteen days, caused record low temperatures and resulted in record high consumption of electricity in Albania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Greece, Serbia and Croatia, even the highest recorded consumption of electricity ever.
