With a last ditch effort, the employees of the Thermal Power Plant in Pljevlja manage to maintain production, and the aggregate works with reduced power in order to replenish the landfill with coal.
According to the director of TE Luka Jovanović, there are about ten thousand tons of coal at the landfill, which is enough for two to three days of work.
Jovanović expects that the Pljeval miners will manage to increase their supplies in the coming days, given that the block is operating at reduced power.
The Pljevlja Thermal Power Plant, depending on the power it operates with, consumes four to five thousand tons of coal per day, and the local Rudnik delivers the same amount to the landfill every day.
"We are currently working with a power of 170 megawatts, which is 70 percent of the maximum power, in order for the miners of Pljevlja to increase their supplies," said Jovanović.
According to him, last weekend at the Thermal Power Plant they had serious problems with the delivery and quality of coal, so the production was called into question.
"We had problems with the delivery of coal, because it was full of moisture and froze in the mills, which made work difficult. "On Saturday, we had to work on fuel oil in order to clean the coal delivery line, and we returned to coal around eight o'clock," said Jovanović.
The thermal power plant works stably, and the miners deliver significantly better quality coal
He says that today the situation is more favorable, that the thermal power plant works stably, and that the miners of Pljevlja deliver significantly better quality coal.
Jovanović says that they have introduced extraordinary measures at the Thermal Power Plant, in order to quickly eliminate possible problems in the work.
Twelve-hour working hours were also introduced, as well as increased duty hours for employees.
Interest in buying coal
Interest in buying coal has increased among citizens, and TE Pljevlja says that there is enough of this energy source for all those interested who are left without firewood in these cold days.
Due to impassable roads, this company cannot deliver coal to schools in the interior of the country and cities in the north of the country.
