By the end of December, the government will approve the proposal to change the notary's tariff, with the aim of reducing it by 20 to 50 percent, announced the Minister of Justice Duško Marković. In response to parliamentary questions, he said that the working group drafted the text of the new tariff, which certain legal tasks are reduced by 20 to 50 percent, in order to adapt the tariff to the social and economic environment of Montenegro. The proposal to change the notary tariff was made on the basis of citizens' comments on the amount of the fee, in cooperation with the ministries of justice and finance and the Chamber of Notaries. "The proposal was adopted by the Assembly of the Chamber of Notaries on December 10, and it will be in the procedure by the end of the month," said Marković and added that it took a little longer, because that decision is within the competence of the notary, while the Government gives its consent. He recalled that after the changes in the organization of the Chamber of Notaries, a solution was reached, i.e. a reduction of the tariff by 20 to 50 percent.
Unburden the courts
Marković believes that the courts should not be given back the authority to certify sales contracts, but rather relieve the courts with notary in order to perform other tasks more efficiently. that everything must be done so that notaries become established in the legal system of Montenegro, which will guarantee the legal and security of the economy as a whole.
