The underwater energy cable will "emerge" on the Montenegrin part of the coast along the western edge of Jaz, which belongs to the municipality of Kotor.
"Vijesti" learns that this is foreseen in the draft of the Detailed Spatial Plan for the submarine connection with Italy and the transmission line route from the coast to Pljevlja.
The Government announced that the draft report on the Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment (SEA) positively assessed the corridor proposed by the plan. This will be seen at the public debate on the DPP and SEA drafts, which starts today and will last a month.
The project also includes the construction of a general tarfo station.
"The cable goes out to Cape Jaz from the western side, but it will not connect to Trsteno beach. We have seen that the draft plan does not include protected tourist areas", claim the Government, and they will only publish the draft plan and SEA report today.
The government has not yet announced the contract for the construction of the cable, even though the European Parliament insisted that it be made public.
The Italian Terna, which will build the cable with the Montenegrin Electric Transmission System (CGES), asked to go out to Jaz or Kotor's Trsteno bay.
In the preliminary analysis of the plan, it is written that Terna is not suitable for the proposed Platamuna since "burying the cable in the rocky bottom would be difficult and less profitable".
