Due to non-compliance with the collective agreement and the unpaid difference in wages due to the calculation of the lower base in the Port of Bar, for many years, about 90 workers are claiming about 2,5 million euros in civil proceedings before the Court of Basic Law in Bar.

The lawyer of the port workers, Ljubinka Kustudić, told "Vijesta" that in the three ongoing proceedings, she asked the court to punish the management of the bar company, led by director Zarija Franović, because for months it has not allowed access to financial documentation due to the need for these court cases and additional expertise that needs to be done by expert witness Dragan Nišavić.

"One case has already been completed in the first instance, and the other cases cannot be completed due to the necessary supplementary expert examination, although the Basic Court in Bar has already given three or four orders to provide the documentation required for the expert examination", said Kustudić, stressing that "the administration of Luka persistently obstructs these court proceedings".

She added that the prosecutors of the management of Luka Bar, under very favorable conditions, proposed a settlement to the management that the arrears of wages be paid to them in the next 24, that is, 36 monthly installments.

"They don't want to look back on that either. In February, I addressed the president of the board Anđelko Lojpur with a request to influence director Franović to give the documentation to the expert, but nothing came of it," added Kustudić.

In the meantime, the management of Luka Bar sent a survey to the employees with the assurance that it would pay them the difference in earnings, but under less favorable conditions than those guaranteed by the collective agreement and on the condition that they waive all claims.

The president of the trade union, Vladimir Obradović, announced that the assumption of the Montenegrin Association of Small Shareholders (CAMA) that the workers' claims against the Port of Bar are about 10 million euros "has not yet been calculated by the official court expert opinion".

He said that according to the expert report, which has not been completed, 96 of them claim up to three million euros.
