The new technology will enable larger quantities of oil

The new oil drilling technology will help the United States of America (USA) to use hitherto inaccessible lands in the west of the country, which would lead to greater amounts of this energy than there are in the Gulf of Mexico. Big oil companies are already investing billions of USD to own oil fields in North Dakota, Colorado, Texas and California. According to analysts' estimates, by 2015 the new fields could bring the US two million barrels of oil per day, which is more than is currently being extracted in the entire Gulf of Mexico, reports Croatian Business. With this new technique, which increases the number of cracks in the rock and uses different chemicals to extract oil at minimal cost, the US will cut oil imports in half within ten years and save about 175 billion USD annually. Such estimates are already attracting oil giants such as Royal Dutch Shell, British Petroleum and Statoil.
