Budva SNP: Sveti Stefan will not be open this summer either

Budva's SNP and its tourism expert team announced yesterday that the tenant of "Svetog Stefan" is the company "Adriatic properties" with their last appearance in public, only confirming their story that the company is in chaos, that they have no money, and that Svetac will not be open not even this summer.

Last week, the strongest opposition party in Budva requested that the Government terminate the lease contract for the city-hotel and return it to the management of "Budva Riviera", claiming that the company is on the verge of bankruptcy, and that they do not have the money to pay the subcontractors, nor to complete the reconstruction of the St. Stefan.

Immediately after that, they announced from "Adraitic properties", denying those accusations.

"Adriatic Properties" did not deny any of our claims in its last appearance in the media. By their silence, they, on the contrary, confirm the accuracy of our allegations. It also confirms all the helplessness and a general confusion in terms of solving such a complicated situation in which, thanks to their lack of understanding, we all found ourselves together. This requires the urgent involvement of the state, first of all the Ministry of Tourism, as well as the definitive termination of the harmful contract", the statement of this party states.

They called on the Montenegrin Tourist Association to speak out about the alarming situation, and explain to the Montenegrin public how much and what kind of damage has been done to the country as a recognizable tourist destination, due to the five-year closure of its symbol - the city-hotel Sveti Stefan.

"We support the activities of hoteliers, restaurateurs, traders, agency owners and other interested parties, which aim to file several lawsuits before the court in Kotor against the tenants of St. Stefan.

Lawsuits will be filed in order to prevent the occurrence of irreparable damage, which they have been suffering for years due to the careless and sloppy execution of works on the Sveti Stefan hotel complex, to which there is no end in sight, and which is progressively increasing from year to year due to the disruption of the natural, long-standing symbiosis established between islands and hinterland", they assessed in this party.

They once again invited the new minister of sustainable development and tourism, Predrag Sekulić, to visit Sveti Stefan.

"It is necessary for the minister to get involved and face the obvious and difficult problems related to the impossibility of completing the works on St. Stefan. We believe that this is an ideal opportunity and challenge for him to demonstrate his ability and desire to help solve a difficult and complex situation as a new minister," the announcement concludes.

Tourist forum - masked DPS

Tourism officials from the SNP also referred to their colleagues in the recently founded NGO "Tourist Forum".

"The silence of the newly established "Tourist Forum" is surprising and one can say that it is shameful. For what and whose purpose was the existence of that forum designed if its strong reaction is constantly absent, to such a heated problem as the five-year closure of St. Stephen's.

Therefore, we wonder if the "Tourist Forum" is just a masked body of the DPS, which aims to put pressure on the party, if they would not take another hotel at a privileged price", the SNP assessed.
