Average earnings without taxes and contributions in December amounted to 515 euros, which is 7,3 percent more than the previous month, but retail prices also rose, Monstat announced.
"If it is taken into account that consumer prices increased by 2009 percent last year compared to 0,5, it follows that real earnings recorded a growth of three percent," the state statistics office announced.
The lowest earnings were still in the fishing sector, 259 euros, while the highest was in financial mediation, 955 euros.
The prices of goods and services, which are used for personal consumption, measured by the consumer price index, in December increased by 0,1 percent compared to November, while the growth rate of consumer prices in the period from January to December compared to the same period in 2009. it was 0,5 percent higher.
Compared to the same period in 2009, consumer prices in December increased by 0,7 percent.
In the last month of 2010, transportation prices rose by 2,1 percent and housing prices by 0,1 percent. The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages and culture and recreation fell by 0,4 percent, other goods and services by 0,3 percent, education by 0,2 percent, and furniture and equipment for the home, healthcare, and restaurants and hotels by 0,1 percent. Alcoholic beverages and tobacco, clothing and footwear and communications remained at the November level.
In the transportation category, fuel and lubricants rose in price by 4,7 percent, housing costs jumped by 2,5 percent, and water and gas supply by 26,2 percent.
In the considered period, meat became cheaper by 0,6 percent, fish by 2,4 percent, milk, cheese and eggs by 3,3 percent, oil and grease and soft drinks by 0,2 percent, and mineral water by 0,4 percent.
Fruit is more expensive, by 5,4 percent, and vegetables by 2,9 percent.
