Vukotić: If you don't publish in English, it's as if you haven't published

The opening and freedom of individual choice, not the closure and tyranny of the bureaucracy, is the way to survive in this millennium, said Professor Veselin Vukotić, Ph.D., opening the 19th Christmas debates on economics at the University of Donja Gorica, where the "Balkans and the EU" were debated.

"Of course, it will not be easy. Just as the representatives of protectionism in Montenegro (parties, companies, institutions, experts) will not easily accept the new coming reality, no matter how much they "disappear" for the EU. It is precisely in them that I see future critics of Montenegro's entry in the EU...

How are we going to save national resources now? How to advocate now that foreigners cannot buy our land, real estate, companies, schools, hospitals...?

Until November 9, 2010 (when Montenegro received the status of a candidate for the EU), foreigners included Spaniards, Italians, Germans, and Finns... and about 500 million people! Since November 9, 2010, they are domestic citizens. There is no ban," said Vukotić.

The beginning of the change of elites

There are no customs duties within the EU, and "for a small economy like Montenegrin (0,03 percent of EU GDP), considering the structure of both imports and exports", according to Vukotić, "it is a de facto state of complete liberalism: free market and competition".

-"This is the beginning of the change of the elite in all areas in Montenegro - hence the chance for capable entrepreneurs, for everyone who knows, speaks languages, who are professionals in their work. Everything that is related only to the internal market will stunt, including the field of politics What, for example, is not published in English, as well as not being published!"

The key economic problem of today, unemployment, as emphasized by Vukotić, can be solved "only from new added value (investment) created only by business, which relies on knowledge, science, research, new young and capable people, new technologies".

- If so, is the expansion of administration a future trend? Certainly not, except for those with a "reverse vision of the future"

Vukotić proposes the reconstruction of budget spending as well as the reconstruction of state functions and the Constitution of Montenegro.

We don't label businessmen

"; said Vukotić.

He announced that he is against restraining economic freedoms and branding people from business.

"We have to believe in the strength of the spirit of the people from this area, in that Balkan passion, and have the confidence that we, no less than others, can have our own (identity) in that new state."
