The book by Prof. Ivo Županović, PhD and Dragana Zečević, MSc, "Financial Analysis" is also a message for Montenegrin tourism, which lacks a real analysis of the financial and economic effects that are realized in this most important economic branch in our country," said the State Secretary in the Ministry at the promotion. sustainable development and tourism, Damir Davidović.
"Did the fact that we had more tourists in one year and achieved more overnight stays also have financial effects in the catering and hotel sector? Tourism that we had in the past and that we have today requires a change in the way of management. It cannot be done in the same way managed by one who has one or more facilities. Montenegrin tourism used to generate 200 million euros in revenue, and now we are already talking about a figure that will exceed one billion euros this year," said Davidović.
He believes that the book should show which markets we should go towards, better or worse for paying guests, and how the promotion of the offer is effective through revenues.
That is why the Ministry believes that it is also necessary for the scientific community to become more involved in the tourism story, with realistic parameters and analytics.
"The tourist offer and its quality must keep up with the spirit of the times we live in, that's why the book "Financial Analysis" is of special importance for tourism in Montenegro", said the President of the Municipality of Herceg Novi, Stevan Katić.
Županović said that Herceg Novi used to be the most touristic city in Montenegro.
"And now it's Budva with positive and negative impacts. That's exactly why the "Financial Analysis" serves. We can talk about the marketing aspect until tomorrow, but the story doesn't end there, because we have to draw the line weekly, monthly, quarterly..." he said. is Županović.
Županović is the author of four professional books, he published two textbooks for higher education institutions, as well as a textbook for secondary vocational schools "Fundamentals of Tourism and Hospitality" in 2008.
He teaches at the Faculty of Business and Tourism in Budva and the Faculty of Management in Herceg Novi.
