Through the implementation of 25 incentive measures to support rural and sustainable development with 270 thousand euros, the municipality of Bjelopolje is ranked among the first municipalities in Montenegro in terms of the number of measures, but also the amount of funds.
The value of the Program of Incentive Measures for Rural and Sustainable Development for this year is 70 thousand euros. In addition to that program, the Municipality implements a program of incentive measures for the development of agriculture, for which EUR 200 has been allocated and contains 15 incentive measures. The Secretary of the Secretariat for Rural Development, Jasmin Ćorović, said that the Incentive Program is implemented through 10 different measures.
"One of the most significant chances for the development of the rural area is found in linking agriculture and tourism, so that local agricultural products would find their place in their own family household as part of the tourist offer, according to the model "from your field to your table on your farm". The main goal of this incentive is the development of rural tourism through linking agriculture and tourism and strengthening the competitiveness of domestic agricultural products through better and easier placement", said Ćorović.
He stated that the support provided by the Municipality is up to 50 percent of the total value and a maximum of 1000 euros, which is given in the form of reimbursement of expenses.
The deadline for submission of applications, which can only be submitted by registered farms, lasts until November 30 and the application can be submitted once a year, and the funds are paid upon completion of the investment.
The plan also includes support for agricultural farms and rural households in the amount of 50 percent of the investment for the purchase of mini-refrigerators for transporting fruit and vegetables, and the maximum amount of support cannot exceed 1.500 euros.
Funds can be obtained for the development of rural infrastructure and for solving the problems of the lack of small bridges on rivers, poor water supply, unkempt cemeteries, roads, dilapidated sports fields... The municipality will help in the maximum amount of 2.000 euros, or 80 percent of the funds per request.
The highest amount of aid refers to the support of rural infrastructure to support the establishment of agricultural associations and amounts to 10 thousand euros.
Budget aid in the amount of 6.000 euros refers to promotion and education.
"The measure to support farmers for raising livestock to katuns is 7.000 euros, that is, 50 euros per conditional head, and a maximum of five conditional heads per household. The program also offers support for the use of construction and other machinery for the protection and sustainable use of agricultural land on farms in the amount of 50 percent of the total investment, i.e. a maximum of 1.000 euros per farm. The program also contains measures to improve biodiversity, measures to mitigate and reduce natural hazards," says Ćorović.
