DRI: Regional water supply is misleading the public

The State Audit Institution (DR) reacted to the statements of the management of JP "Regionalni vodvodet Crnogorsko primorje" - Budva, related to the Final Report on the control audit of that company.

"In the fifteen years of work of the State Audit Institution (DRI), this is the first case that an audit subject, after completing the audit and publishing the Final Report through the media, gives his interpretation of the content of the report in a way that grossly misleads the public about its content. In accordance with the professional standards of ISSAI and the principles of auditing of the public sector of the SAI, it will not "controversy" about the content of the audit findings through the media, especially not in a situation where those responsible for the legality of the work of this JP use platitudes like "they reject with indignation" as an argument in support of their professional work as baseless claims of the competent Collegium' or 'a scandalous attempt by the SAI to accuse the management of a state-owned enterprise'," the SAI announced.

The SAI, as they said, is not competent to "accuse", but that this competence is in the hands of the state prosecutor's office and the police, to whom, the press release points out, at their request, the Final Report and other accompanying documentation related to this audit have already been handed over.

They note that for all interested parties, who wish to become objectively familiar with the content of the Final Report on the Control Audit of this Public Enterprise, it has been published in its entirety on the SAI website, and ex officio submitted to the Parliament of Montenegro, the competent committees, the Government and the ministries that supervise the work of this PE.
